Derrick Hayes caught kids and parents attention when he began telling his own personal experience with tobacco. Derrick Hayes engaged kids and parents by expressing that if you think positively you can do anything you put your mind to, but you must believe in yourself.
He delivered a motto called Never Never pick it up, Always put it down. Through this motto he explained that if you never pick up a bad habit you don't have to worry about putting it down. This saying lives in Haywood County today. Derrick Hayes words will not be forgotten in Haywood County."
